AITC celebrates successful Blue and White Week

Blue and White Week 2022 has come to an end after a successful week of celebration and fundraising.

We plastered social media with Blue and White Week content for five days, sharing some highlights of the amazing work our team does across Sussex and focusing on each of our key areas over the week: Community Wellbeing, Football Participation, and Education & Employability.

Staff at Brighton & Hove Albion and Albion in the Community got into the spirit of things by coming into work dressed up in blue and white. Several Sussex schools also got in on the act by asking all of their pupils to wear blue and white for a day to show support for Blue and White Week.

To spread the Blue and White Week message, Albion mascot Gully spread his wings and journeyed to various locations around Sussex. Gully also visited some schools, helped deliver assemblies, and went into offices to help spread the Blue and White Week cheer.

As part of Blue and White Week we asked you to sign up to support AITC by becoming a Community Champion; a number of new supporters answered the call and we now have more than 230 Community Champions.

Blue and White Week also made a splash in the media, with the week getting featured by several newspapers and radio stations.

Martin Perry promoted Blue and White Week to The Argus and BBC Radio Sussex, while AITC coach Kenny and disability football participant Sam Brooker also spoke to BBC Sussex about the amazing impact of our disability football programme. Guy Butters also got involved with the promotion, speaking to Heart and Capital radio stations about Blue and White Week.

Blue and White Week may be over now but you can still support AITC by becoming a Community Champion. You can find out more here.

To everyone that supported us during this special week – thank you! We can’t wait to do it all again in 2023.
